 Equality Objectives - 2026 - 2030

Sele First School is committed to promoting equality, inclusion and respect in line with:

We are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and included regardless of background, ability or protected characteristic.

Objective 1: Promote Inclusion and Respect

To maintain a caring and inclusive school culture where all pupils feel respected, represented and safe.

We will:

• promote the school values of Ready, Respectful and Safe
• celebrate diversity through the curriculum and wider school life
• challenge bullying, discrimination and prejudice
• support positive relationships through restorative approaches

Objective 2: Support Vulnerable Learners

To reduce barriers to learning and improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils, including pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils.

We will:

• provide adaptive teaching and targeted support
• use relational and Thrive approaches to support wellbeing
• work closely with families and external agencies
• monitor attendance, progress and participation

Objective 3: Develop Understanding of Equality

To help pupils understand equality, fairness, diversity and respectful relationships.

We will:

• teach equality and British Values through the curriculum
• educate pupils about respectful behaviour and online safety
• encourage pupil voice and leadership opportunities

 Objective 4: Promote Equality for Staff and Families

To ensure staff, parents and carers are treated fairly, respectfully and inclusively.

We will:

• provide appropriate training and support for staff
• maintain positive communication with families
• make reasonable adjustments where appropriate
