Year 3 Week 5: The Sill 'Rocks'!
Our pupils enjoyed an exciting and enriching trip to The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre, located in the heart of Northumberland’s stunning countryside.
During the visit, children had the opportunity to explore the interactive exhibitions, learning all about the natural landscape, local wildlife, and the importance of caring for our environment. The hands-on activities encouraged curiosity and helped bring classroom learning to life.
One of the highlights of the day was venturing outdoors, where pupils took part in guided activities across the surrounding landscape. They developed their observation skills, identified different plants and habitats, and gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the natural world including the rock formation of The Whin Sill which was supplemented by our time studying rocks in the classroom.
We are very proud of all the pupils and would like to thank the staff at The Sill for providing such an engaging and memorable experience.
