Week 3: Geographers on the Map! 🗺️

This week our Year 3 pupils took their geography skills to the next level as they explored map reading and distance measuring in the classroom!

As part of their topic on Farm to Factory, the children were challenged to find out how far Hexham is from Kielder Forest. Using OS maps they learned to use scale bars to calculate distances with impressive accuracy. After we consulted google maps we incredibly found that Egger certainly is 55.6km from Kielder Forest as stated by the children.
