Year 3 Week 1: Sweet Success: Celebrating Eid Through Food and Design

This week, our pupils combined their learning in Religious Education and Design Technology by making delicious date energy balls to celebrate Eid.

As part of their learning about Eid traditions and celebrations, the children explored the significance of dates in Islamic culture before taking part in a carefully planned food-design activity. They worked creatively to design and make their own energy balls, considering ingredients, presentation, and healthy eating choices.

The children showed excellent teamwork, enthusiasm, and creativity throughout the process. After making their treats, they enjoyed tasting their creations and evaluating them, discussing what worked well and how they might improve their designs in the future.

It was a fantastic cross-curricular experience that allowed pupils to develop their practical skills, creativity, and understanding of different faiths and cultures while celebrating Eid in a meaningful and enjoyable way.
