Habitat Mapping - Completing the Project with the RHS

The Eco Warriors enjoyed habitat mapping our school grounds with Jane Pollinger from the RHS to support regional and national biodiversity research. They identified permeable and non-permeable ground, mapped flower beds, broadleaf trees, water butts, compost bins and fences. Jane then showed them how to map this data onto a digital map using GIS skills. The highlight of the afternoon was spotting a buff tail Queen bee!
