Year 3 Sunflower Day 2026

Today, Year 3 embraced the beauty of nature as we celebrated Sunflower Day! Using a wonderful collection of garden materials, the children worked creatively to design and build their own unique sunflowers. From petals made of leaves and bark to centres crafted from seeds and soil, every piece was a reflection of their imagination and teamwork.

Beyond the artwork, the day was all about developing our creative habits. The children showed fantastic curiosity as they explored different textures and shapes, resilience when things didn’t quite go to plan, and collaboration as they shared ideas and supported one another.

It was a joy to see such thoughtful, hands-on learning—bringing art, nature, and creativity together in such a meaningful way.
