Y2 Beamish Visit
This week, Year 2 enjoyed an exciting trip to Beamish Museum as part of their History topic on the Victorians. The children had the opportunity to step back in time and experience what life was like over 100 years ago.
They visited a Victorian schoolroom, where they practised writing on slates and discovered just how strict teachers could be! They explored traditional shops and houses, met costumed characters, and were fascinated by the differences between Victorian life and today. A particular highlight was visiting the early 20th-century car garages, where they saw vintage vehicles and learnt how they were built and maintained.
Throughout the day, the children asked thoughtful and interesting questions, showing real curiosity and enthusiasm for the past. It was a fantastic experience that brought their learning to life.
