Year 3 Week 3: Striking a Pose with Hansel and Gretel!

This week, our pupils stepped into the world of Michael Morpurgo’s Hansel and Gretel through an exciting drama activity: freeze frames. Working in small groups, children recreated key moments from the story, thinking carefully about body language, facial expression, and the emotions of each character.

The activity helped pupils explore the thoughts and motivations of Hansel, Gretel, and the other figures in the tale. By analysing how characters move, feel, and react, children have begun to build a deeper understanding that will support them in writing their own character descriptions of Belladonna the Witch next week.
