Tyne Rivers Trust

Tyne Rivers Trust Y4

Year 4 had the opportunity to visit Hexham Library to attend a workshop delivered by Tyne Rivers Trust. They spent the session gathered around the model of the River Tyne, investigating the different landscapes. Using their knowledge from our rivers topic, children could identify the tributaries, confluences, river mouth and reservoirs. Throughout the workshop, children discussed how planting trees and hedges can help prevent flooding and improve the water quality whilst also gaining an understanding of how climate change could impact our rivers in the future.
