STEM in Reception

On Monday, Supertato was captured by Evil Pea and taken to a desert island! Reception are tasked with designing and building a vehicle capable of rescuing Supertato and bringing him home.

This week they have planned their designs, held many conversations with Evil Pea in the Superhero Rescue Station, written Wanted Posters, built rafts and tested whether they float or sink, and learnt DT joins to build obstacle courses for Evil Pea. Children learnt the names of 3D shapes this week, ready to build their models next week.

On Friday, we had Superhero Day and Technology Day. Children loved learning to program Spheros, use Ozobots and explore Chatterpix. 

STEM Week 1 in Reception
