Stay and Play

Stay and Play in Reception

Reception loved sharing their classroom for Stay and Play this week! Our text was Room on the Broom with a focus on rhyming words. Children enjoyed matching rhyming pairs to put into silly soup then wrote these into their Literacy books, e.g. cat/hat, dog/log

In Maths, Reception explored the composition of 5. Using double sided counters and songs they have shown how 5 can be made in different ways, e.g 4 and 1, 3 and 2.

On Odd Socks Day we focussed on kindness and accepting differences. We talked about how some people like building, whilst others like drawing and that we all have special talents. We wrote messages to people in class who were kind and moved people onto the Recognition Board for showing kindness to others.
