Mr Grumpy's Outing in Reception
Inspired by the gondolas in our Take One Picture (A Regatta on the Grand Canal), Reception read Mr Grumpy's Outing. They used small world characters to walk through and retell the story.
Children learnt how to gradually lighten colours to create a gradient of blue for their waves. In the Creative area, they used tracing methods to recreate gondolas, adding their own colours.
We have continued to practise lots of initial letter sound games, spelling ingredients in the home corner such as a-a-apple and c-c-carrot.
Our Maths focus was comparing amounts. Children built towers of differing heights and used Blockzilla to talk about who had more, fewer or equal.
Have a lovely weekend!
