Gingerbread Houses in Reception
The Reception bakers were busy making gingerbread houses this week! Prompted by the houses on the Venetian waterside in the painting, children wrote lists of ingredients, mixed, squeezed, rolled, baked and of course ate, delicious gingerbread.
We also began work on our colourful canvas', using mark making techniques to decorate them.
In Maths, children worked on the composition of 4. Children used Numicon and paint stamps to show how 4 can be made in different ways, e.g. 3+1, 2+2. As Numberblock 4 is 'squarey', children also began to look at shapes with 4 sides too.
