Our topic this half term is Fantastic Beasts! This week, we started with dinosaurs. Children created their own dinosaur riddles, thinking carefully about how to describe a dinosaur without revealing its name. They also explored dinosaur silhouettes, identifying key features from outlines.
In Maths, we focused on finding different ways to make 7 using the part-part-whole method. The children used practical resources and visual models to explore number bonds, confidently identifying combinations such as 5 and 2, 4 and 3, and 6 and 1. They are becoming increasingly confident in explaining their mathematical thinking.
Each afternoon, we have made the most of our courtyard space. Outdoor learning has
supported the children’s physical development, imagination and collaborative play.
