Celebrations and Birthdays in Reception

Inspired by the flags and bunting in our Take One Picture, Reception’s topic this week was celebrations and birthdays. 

They made birthday cards and party invitations, wrote party lists using initial sounds and enjoyed packing gift bags and celebrating.

Children began printing the fabric for their flags using marbling inks in water. They printed wrapping paper for roleplay and decorated their names.

In Maths, Reception worked on subitising - recognising a quantity without counting it - dice patterns by playing different games.
