Year 2-A fantastic start to 2025-2026 Year

What a brilliant first week it’s been for our new Year 2s! The children have settled in beautifully—full of excitement and curiosity for the year ahead.

To kick off our topic Hot and Cold Places, we explored how temperatures can vary, even just around our own school! Using thermometers, the children worked in small groups to measure temperatures in different locations, such as sunny spots, shady areas, and breezy corners. They were surprised to find that not all places felt the same! This led to some great discussions about how, just like in our school grounds, different places around the world can have very different temperatures. This hands-on investigation was a great way to launch our learning and we’re excited to find out more about the hottest and coldest places on Earth in the coming weeks!
