Year 3 Week 3: Let’s Talk Rainforests!

This week, our budding geographers took their learning to new heights—quite literally—as they used oracy skills and creative materials to build the layers of the rainforest!

Pupils worked in groups to research, discuss, and present what happens in each layer: the forest floor, understorey, canopy, and emergent layer. Using rich vocabulary and confident speaking techniques, they explained the unique plants, animals, and climate features found in each part of this incredible ecosystem.

To bring their ideas to life, the children collaborated to construct model rainforest layers using paper, fabric, recycled materials, and plenty of imagination.
